ABOUT USFlorilegium Chamber Choir was founded in 1976 by JoAnn Rice, who led the choir for over thirty years. Ms. Rice was succeeded as Music Director by Nicholas DeMaison (2009-2013), Ronnie Oliver Jr. (2014-2018), and James Knox Sutterfield (2019-present). While the choir has resided in various churches across Manhattan, Trinity Lutheran Church of Manhattan has happily been our home since 2006.
We have performed more than 1000 different works by nearly 300 composers, ranging from the 13th century (Hildegard von Bingen) to the 21st (numerous). We are proud to have presented the world premieres of 28 choral works, by prominent composers including Richard Burchard, Daniel Elder, Donald Grantham, Walter Hilse, Leo Kraft, Elie Siegmeister, Hugo Weisgall, and Judith Lang Zaimont, among others. |
Florilegium Chamber Choir is a proud member of the New York Choral Consortium,
which represents the diverse community of singers and choral organizations in New York City.
